About Us

Joanna and Melvin started farming as newlyweds in 1992, continuing their families’ tradition of agriculture. Gradually, their kitchen and flower gardens expanded, the hobby greenhouse was replaced by multiple larger ones, and the vegetable garden moved out of the back yard and into the farm fields. 

Nowadays, Steckle’s is still a family operation. Melvin and Norman manage the cattle, forage, and grains side, while Joanna and the girls handle the garden center and farm market. Their goal is to preserve the values of faith, family, and good stewardship for following generations - and provide visitors a good meal.
